Abstract : Serverless computing has become a revolutionary model in cloud computing, providing benefits like scalability,
cost savings, and minimal infrastructure management. However, as applications that demand low latency grow, the
limitations of serverless architectures—such as higher user-perceived latency and reliance on centralized cloud resources—
become apparent. This paper examines how integrating edge computing with serverless architectures can address these
issues, enhancing performance and reducing latency. Experimental results indicate that handling requests at the edge using
AWS Lambda@Edge lowers network latency, improves response times, and reduces the load on central cloud resources.
Additionally, economic analysis suggests that combining edge and serverless computing is a cost-effective solution.
